Hello Everybody,
This is Mesut again. I have some great news for you... On March 1st at 10 a.m., the school will be hosting the first official CIMBA MBA Alumni Association (CAA) meeting.
Most people who will be attending will be local alumni, and the intent of the meeting is to elect a governing board and set expectations, goals and other principles for the association.
The school is hoping to be able to create chapters in all other countries where CIMBA alumni have a significant population. So if you are interested in participating in the event or becoming a coordinator for your region contact Cristina Turchet.
Another exciting news is that we (Class of 2008) will be establishing a Micro-Finance Fund for Entrepreneurs in developing countries through KIVA. This will be an ongoing opportunity for CIMBA student to give back and learn from the world around them. It would also be an opportunity to leverage classroom learning and apply this to real world experiences.
Kiva is an organization that lets individuals or organizations connect with and loan money to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world. By choosing a loan on Kiva, we will "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. (For more info. please visit www.kiva.org)
Blake and Andrea is improving the initial proposal that Blake put together for the Fund and will present it during the CAA meeting. We all thank them for their ideas and efforts. What they are helping to get started will continue to be supported by future CIMBA MBA classes as well as CIMBA Undergraduate classes and will have a positive effect on the lives of many people for years to come.
I guess this is it for now, I am sorry for the long entery but I had too much to say this time, I promise to keep the next one short and sweet...
Have wonderful day...
Mesut
